Kylie and Kasey didn't have school today so we started our day bright and early with dying our Easter eggs. All 18 of them. I'm not sure what I will do with that many hard boiled eggs but that is just par for the course with the amount of kids we have. Maybe I will make egg salad sandwiches tomorrow for lunch...we'll see. This was the first year that Kelly participated and she sure did enjoy it. She is S-L-O-W-L-Y turning the corner on being able to do "big girl" things and for that, I am thankful. She sat really nice and dyed her eggs without any major problems. She just refused to get her egg out of the dye with anything other than her hands. Fine by me, she just had colored hands the rest of the day. Egg dying 2009...Success!!!
Kelly only wanted to dye orange eggs.
Nothing new here for Miss Kasey
Kylie trying to master the impossible invisible clear crayon.
Kelly doing "her eyes".
Right after we finished up with the eggs, the phone rang. It was a call from our neighborhood grocery store informing us that Kylie took first prize in the Easter coloring contest for her age group. She completely flipped out when I told her! It was very exciting for her to win. We drove right over to pick up her prize. She received a gift bag full of fun Easter candy and toys. You would have thought that she won the lottery! And her "artist ego" is officially inflated now.

I'm so proud of my granddaughters great talent. I could use a couple of eggs for lunch OK. I love hearing of all the fun you have. Have a Blessed Easter
That is super awsome that Kylie won! Tell her I said congrats. Your girls are so adorable, and Kelly is really starting to look like a little girl and not toddler so much. Love and miss you
I love the eggs ladies! Especially the blue ones and the orange ones - Way to go Kylie on the contest - I know how talented you are in your art work!
