Baby #5 on the way!!

Thank goodness it's April Fools Day!! Gotcha for a minute though, didn't I? Things have continued to be really busy for us and blogging has just been the first thing to fall by the wayside. Speaking of having more kids...Jonathan did have a vasectomy about a month ago so, you won't be hearing any more baby news from us. He handled it like a champ and was pretty much back to normal by the next day.

This last Saturday, some friends and I hosted a baby shower for one of my best friends Shelly at our house. She is due with her first baby boy on June 1st. Jonathan was nice enough to take Kasey and Kelly to Rockford for the weekend so I could get everything ready with little distraction. The shower went really well and I stayed busy enough that I didn't take one photo!

This morning, I made my last cookie money bank deposit for Kylie's girl scout troop. I was the "cookie mom" this year. That meant having Jonathan pick up 48 cases of girl scout cookies two weeks after Harry was born, splitting them up into individual girl orders, delivering all of Kylie's cookies, collecting all of her money, collecting all of the rest of the girls money from them and then counting and depositing all of the money into the girl scout bank account. It actually worked out pretty good thanks to a decent amount of help from Jonathan.

Kylie and Kasey are off school this week for spring break. Instead of warm, sunny, spring like weather...we got dumped on yesterday with a fresh coating of heavy, wet snow. They enjoyed themselves though...playing outside most of the day with our neighbor Ben. The built snow forts, snowmen and shoveled the sidewalks. They finally came in around 5:30 last night soaking wet with bright red cheeks. I had just finished cooking dinner and I have never seen them so excited to sit down to a warm meal. They ate really well with no complaining and went to bed soon after that. They were tired after a day of playing so hard.

For Easter, we went to church and actually made it there on time. This photo was taken right before we left. Kasey has a way with Harry that is so sweet. Kasey and Kelly do nothing but fight so it is nice to see her have a bond with Harry. He smiles when he sees her and stops crying when she holds him. We had Easter dinner at my Aunt Jan's house as my mom was out of commission with her broken arm.

Speaking of my mom...she is having surgery on her arm this morning. She went in for a follow up MRI last week and they determined that it wasn't healing as it should. She will spend the night in the hospital tonight and then be home from work for at least another month.

On Sunday after church, Kylie wanted to go roller skating. Her class recently went to a roller rink for a field trip and she fell in love with it. She used one of her Target gift cards that she got at Christmastime to buy brand new roller skates and had been dying to try them out. So I took her and she had a ball while Harry and I looked on. Actually, Harry slept in the sling the entire time but I watched. I want to go back sometime soon when I can join her rollerskating. There were several moms skating with their kids and it looked so fun. I used to love roller skating and it looked like a great workout.

Harry has fallen into a decent routine within the last week. He is sleeping better at night. Usually one 6 hour stretch followed by a couple two hour stretches. He is also a baby that loves to be swaddled. The minute he starts to fuss a bit, I wrap him up really tight, give him his Nuk and he goes right to sleep. He had also been really fussy with gas lately so we bought some of the anti-gas drops and that has made a HUGE difference. I have used them before with Kylie but I didn't think they did much. With Harry, it has made a major difference.

I know this is sort of a hodge podge of events but I wanted to bring my blog back up to speed. Things should slow down a bit now with the baby shower and cookie mom stuff out of the way. I will try to start updating my blog more. Thank God that the weather is starting to warm up and soon we can start our once a day trips to our local park. The kids are so much happier when they can just get out and run a little bit.
