Today was a good day. Not that I don't have many good days, it's just that today was especially good. Not all that eventful but very good.
I woke up at 8am with a sweet little sleeping baby boy nestled against me. I usually let him sleep with me after his 6am feeding so he doesn't wake Kelly up. I got up and had the girls get ready for school. Not one complaint or any whining about having to get dressed, brush teeth and eat breakfast. I got a phone call from Kylie's school informing me that we had won a raffle basket from her school carnival last Friday night. It is a basket plump full with about $50-$75 worth of arts and craft supplies. And I just happen to have a couple of girls that LOVE arts and crafts. After dropping off the girls at school, I came home to feed Kelly breakfast and she ate every last bite without throwing anything or whining. She then went right down for a nap without any problems. At the same time, Harry took a nice long nap. I usually don't get them both down together. I was able to catch up on some laundry and touch up painting. After Kasey got home from school and the babies woke up from their naps, we ate lunch, again with no problems. We then took the wagon and walked to our neighborhood grocery store to pick up stuff for dinner. All three kids acted like perfect little angels...no pulling things off the shelves, crying or wandering away from me. At this point, I'm am wondering whose children I have and who took mine. We enjoyed a nice leisurely walk home with our groceries in tow. Again, when we arrived home I was able to get both babies down for a nap together. I enjoyed preparing supper with no distractions. Jonathan arrived home and we chowed down on grilled steaks, pasta, veggies and bread sticks. Again, all three kids ate everything without ONE complaint. I cleaned up while Jonathan had the girls outside doing yard work and Harry sat in his bouncer seat happily cooing at me. After the dishes were done, Harry and I joined everyone else outside. Harry laid outside in the grass kicking his little bare feet. I gave the little ones their baths and put them to bed. Kylie and Kasey played outside while Jonathan worked until dark. I cleaned our bathroom from top to bottom as we just had some plumbing and tile work done. Now, the house is clean, as are the kids. The house is quiet with everyone sleeping. I am about to go take my shower and hop in bed myself.
This is SO not my everyday life. But I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed such a peaceful, wonderful day with Jonathan and our kids. God is SO GOOD!!!
