Meet Mauer

Jonathan and I met a big English Bulldog on our honeymoon eight and a half years ago and fell in love. It was such a cute, sweet dog and I remember us talking about him for quite awhile and us agreeing that someday we would have one. I made a copy of one of the pages from our honeymoon scrapbook as proof. (Notice the date)

Today, we made good on that promise to each other. We got an English Bulldog puppy today. His name is Mauer and he is very sweet. The kids are all very excited but my nerves are somewhat fried. When Mauer is awake, all four kids and our neighbor Ben all want to smother him with attention. He is so small, I'm afraid they could hurt him so I have been having to watch their every move. The puppy has a little bit of an upset tummy and hasn't really started eating much yet. I'm sure he is a little scared and sad. I hope he feels better soon and the kids chill out a little bit. I'm sure he will make a nice addition to our family.
