one and a half already?!?

Kelly's 18 month check up was on Friday. It hit me then that she is a year and a half old. It can't have been that long already. It truly seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. But at the same time, it seems like I have known her my whole life. She is such a fun part of our family...she definitly keeps us all on our toes. She is high energy for sure.

Here are some of the things she does everyday right now.

1. She goes to bed at 7:15pm and wakes around 8am. I also get a call from her every night around 3am at which time she has a bottle of warm milk. I'm well aware that nutritionally speaking, she does not need this milk...but I'm also aware of how soon she will grow up, give up her bottles and not want to lay with me in the middle of the night drinking her milk in complete peace. I actually don't mind getting up with her. She has her drink, lays with me for about 5 minutes and then says "ni-ni." I put her back in her crib and don't hear from her again until morning.

2. She loves driving the older girls to school every morning. She runs for her shoes and jacket. Once we get to their schools, each girl gives her a kiss and Kelly says "bye-bye." Once they are out of the car she repeats over and over, "sissy bye bye." She really does miss them while they are gone.

3. She still takes two naps a day. One in the morning for about an hour and one in the afternoon for about two hours.

4. She waits by the front door when it is time for the girls to come home and repeats the word "bus" over and over again. Once the bus arrives, she jumps up and down, smacks the door repeatedly and shreiks "sissy."

5. She follows me into the bathroom everytime I step foot into it.

6. She usually fusses the entire time that I cook dinner every night. It is just her cranky time and she lets me know it.

7. She climbs up onto the table anytime that someone sits down. Whether it be to do homework, check email or pay bills...she will climb up and try to destroy whatever it is that you are working on.

8. She turns into happy little Kelly the minute that Daddy walks into the house from work everyday. She gets so excited to see him at the end of the day and he is SO loud and animated with her that I don't blame her.

9. She dances to any music that I turn on...preferably High School Musical or Hannah Montana.

And my favorite right now...

10. Her response to you doing anything for her (handing her something she wanted, feeding her etc.) is "thank you baby." She must've heard it so much from Jonathan and I that now, it is her standard response of thanks. It is something special to have our little baby call us "baby." Very cute. She still goes by "baby" around here...something that will change quickly in a matter of days.

Here are the stats from her checkup...
Weight: 20 pounds 14 ounces...5th percentile
Length: 32 inches...60th percentile
Head: 18 inches...25th percentile

It's funny how you forget the little people they are at this age and ALMOST makes me wish I had a little one running around again. Thankfully you have enough of them for me to enjoy to curb the urge. Emmy had a great time hanging out with you guys, thanks so much for that, it was very special to her to get that time. She can't wait to visit your church again too, maybe our whole gang will come visit...a change of scenery is always good. Thanks again, love you all! :)

I love that you are intentionally keeping a record of your children's every day events and words. What a great gift for your family as they grow up! I am definitely inspired to do that when God blesses Matt and I with children.

That was fun to read Carrie! My Sam took two naps until he was 17 months old. I loved it. Julia didn't get that luxury because twice a week we were at school all morning. She stopped taking a morning nap at 12 months.

I'm still waiting to hear "Mongee" from that little peanut - You should also add the "pup-pee" piece as that is a huge part of her day too. So sweet!
