potty

Kelly has recently learned the word "potty." She has started walking up to me as she is going potty in her diaper and saying, "potty, potty." I take her right away to the bathroom as soon as she says this, hoping that someday soon, she will actually say it to me before she goes in her diaper.

Last night after dinner, Jonathan and I were both looking at something on the computer when Kelly walked into the kitchen saying "potty, potty." We both figured that she had just went in her diaper and continued chatting. She kept saying it and pointing to the bathroom. She then walked away to what we thought was her bedroom only to return a few moments later. She handed me one of our cordless phones(which was soaking wet,) and again said "potty." Instantly, it made complete sense. She had somehow gotten into the bathroom and put the cordless phone in the toliet and she was just trying to tell us. When we didn't respond, she decided to go and fish it out of the toliet and bring it to us. What a good girl, huh?

Luckily, Jonathan and I were able to laugh about it. Unfortunatly, the phone is ruined but we had been talking about getting a new one anyway. As little as she is, she really does know what she is talking about and in her own little head, she knew that the phone didn't belong in the toliet even though she was the one that put it in there.
