There was dancing to VERY loud musica.
There was a pinata and lots and lots of candy.
There was a balloon man twisting hats and animals.
And lots o' confetti and compressed air. It was wild.
We finished the night off with an ice cream cone at McDonald's.
Today, we took a ferry boat to a nearby island called Isla Mujeres. It is a very small island about 15 mintues away from Cancun by boat. On the ferry ride over, a man got up and played the guitar and sang songs. Look at the photo and you will see Kasey front and center enjoying the entertainment.
Once we arrived on the island, we rented a golf cart and cruised around the entire island. It is very, very different from Cancun. There were a few very big fancy homes but the majority of the island was very old and poor. The girls had so much fun driving around in the golf cart and so did Jonathan and I. When we were in line for the ferry boat home, Kylie and Kasey made FAST best friends with some EXTREMLY DRUNK grandparents from Detroit. They admitted that they missed their grandkids and started playing games in line with Kylie and Kasey. What they didn't realize was how loud and drunk they were being. I was embarressed for them. We were in a line with mostly Mexican people and the Mexican people were making fun of them for being so drunk. Don't get me wrong...they were very nice, they just didn't realize how sloppy they had gotten. Kylie and Kasey didn't skip a beat and thought they were a riot. They all sang songs at the top of their lungs and played counting games.
The ferry finally came and we headed for Cancun. After a stop at Walmart and dinner, we are now back at the hotel. I am blogging from the lobby watching Fox News hearing all about the bogus senator race going on back home. We are in the year 2009 and we still don't know how to cast a vote or count the votes. Crazy!! Big thanks to Gina for picking up Kelly today to give Granny and Maurice a break!!! Love you girl. And thank you in advance to Kyle for e-mailing me our travel documents to us from home. We lost our sheet that has our flight time home. Big thanks to you both!!!!
